Born in Sri Lanka, a citizen of New Zealand since 1990.
A chartered accountant, employed in the public sector in New Zealand. Has also lived and worked as an expatriate accountant in Zambia, Malawi and Botswana (Africa) and travelled throughout Africa and a few countries in Europe. Interests include painting, singing and playing the guitar and sports. While in Africa developed interest in painting African wild life. In New Zealand revived interest in watercolour painting since joining NZ Watercolour Association and attending workshops by Jackie Pearson and Ross Paterson. A pleasant surprise was the NZ Watercolour Association award for Emerging Artist.

Pavithra Devadatta |
Pavithra Devadatta is an artist from India now living in Wellington. She works with both watercolours and oils. She has exhibited and sold her work at the NZ Art Show, at Fund Raising auctions and cafes in Wellington and Martinborough. More recently, her watercolour was exhibited at the New Zealand Parliament.

Phil has regularly exhibited at Watercolour New Zealand for several years. He enjoys painting a wide range of subjects and works in oils and pencil as well. His paintings also feature at New Zealand Academy Exhibitions. Phil is currently Editor of Watercolour New Zealand's quarterly Newsletter.
