Born in the Ukraine, I studied art at the Kiev Art School. Architectural, then graphic design work and raising my children keep me away from painting for twenty years, but I believe this break was for the good. After moving to New Zealand with my family in 2000, I began experimenting with different mediums and techniques (gouache, oil, collage in combination with watercolour and acrylic) to break with the representational, realistic approach. Since 2002 I have regularly exhibited the fruit of my experimentation, a mixture of reality and fantasy, with the NZ Academy of Fine Arts, WAG, Watercolour NZ and elsewhere.
