Jane Smith

Jane Smith lives in the Nelson area and has painted full-time for the last 20 years. She can be found in her working studio in the Tasman Village, 9am-5pm. Most of her paintings are of people, mainly “back on”, of ample proportions. “Comfortable people” she calls them. The people in her pictures seem to be in mid conversation + invite speculation by the viewer of what they might be saying. Subjects pictured are of local activities like apple picking, at the beach or just talking.
